BISHOP HERBERT R. DAVIS

Jurisdictional Prelate

Bishop Herbert Reynolds Davis, PhD maintains an active academic, ecclesiastical and advocacy profile engaging: Church Planting, Community Organizing and Advocacy, Christian Theology, Leadership Development and Organizational Consulting.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion, the Master of Divinity degree, the Doctor of Ministry and the Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership. He has earned professional certification in Leadership Education.

Dr. Davis served in academia as the Executive Vice President of a Title IV theological institution for more than a decade. He regularly speaks to civic and faith-based groups effecting positive spiritual and social change.  He is often requested to offer trainings for church leaders, nonprofit leadership teams and community organizations.  Dr. Davis is the President of HRD Strategic Development LLC which offers training and development for religious organizations, higher education institutions, non-profits, and small businesses. Dr. Davis is the author of three books: The Visitation: Your Defining Moment in the Presence of God; The Christian Leadership Blueprint: Seven Principles for Building Something Great, Transformative, and Lasting; and Graced for This.

Bishop Davis is ordained in the Church of God in Christ. He was consecrated as the Jurisdictional Prelate of the El Salvador Jurisdiction in 2022 and serves locally as the Senior Pastor of the multicultural Nehemiah Church COGIC (Durham, NC) as well as the Chairman of Ordination for the NC 2ND Jurisdiction.  Within the larger denomination he serves as the Associate Commissioner/International Director of the C. H. Mason Jurisdictional Institutes, an Executive Committee Member for the Leadership Conference, and the Assistant AIM Conference Chairman for the Missions Department. He finds greater meaning and inspiration of life from his wife Psiyina, his four adult daughters and one son in law.

TYMEKA Y. WHITESIDE

Jurisdictional Supervisor

Supervisor Tymeka Y. Whiteside is a native of North Carolina and is the daughter of the late Deacon Thomas D. Whiteside, Sr., and Mother Inez Whiteside. She embodies the rich heritage, holiness, and Christian values and teachings of the Church of God in Christ. She is a member of Rhema Ministries COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Larry Bellamy, Sr., and District Missionary Shiral Bellamy.

Supervisor Whiteside is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BEHOLD, an organization that supports clients with their life-coaching needs, community empowerment, community advocacy, and directing individuals to agencies that can support with personal assistance.  In her community support, she has been the guest speaker of Dress for Success every year since 2016. She has encouraged and inspired over 500 women to reestablish their lives and achieve greatness both personally and professionally. She is a creative and multi-talented visionary that has launched a program in 2014 affectionately known as H.A.L.O. (Help A Lady Out) that provides weekly prayer, outreach, and daily motivation to women affected by cancer. Supervisor Whiteside is employed as a Strategic Engagement Senior Program Manager with a global Fortune 500 technology company. She is a joint business owner of several local businesses as well.

Supervisor Whiteside has achieved academic success in various arenas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Master of Art degree in Public Administration from the North Carolina Central University. She also earned a Master of Art degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Supervisor Whiteside also holds a paralegal certificate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and seeks to complete a Doctoral program in Organizational Leadership.

In her Christian journey within the grand old Church of God in Christ she has served directly under the leadership of two Jurisdictional Supervisors in the NC Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. She currently serves on the NC Second Jurisdiction Executive board and as the NC Second DOW Executive assistant to the current Supervisor of Women, Mother Patricia D. Lofton. Supervisor Whiteside also was appointed and served as the first District Missionary of the Harvest District under the leadership of Supt. Dr. Herbert Reynolds Davis for 13 years. Upon the elevation of Superintendent Davis to the Jurisdictional Prelate of COGIC El Salvador, Supervisor Whiteside was also appointed and elevated to serve as the Supervisor of Women for the COGIC El Salvador Jurisdiction.

Supervisor Whiteside believes that each of us can uplift those around us.  She is often quoted as saying, “Empowering others if my God-given superpower.” She is strengthened and empowered through one of her favorite biblical scripture, Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wildness, and rivers in the desert.” KJV
